We find ourselves fortunate to have not only the experience and craft knowledge within our own dedicated team, but to have access to  local craftspersons and artists who we call upon for demonstrations, workshops  and practical advice.

The Craft Shop teamed up with local artist and children's craft exhibitor Terri at a Bug Fest held in Yeovil, Somerset recently.  Terri's Treasure ran a stall that used the Wizard Shrink Art and Sculpey modeling clay.

Dawn Bug Feet
Our very own Dawn sat in the hot seat helping the children colour in their  Shrink Art craft designs, then shrinking them  with  the hot air from a hot air blower.  The children loved to watch the bug designs they made spin in the heat  and shrink  before their eyes. Once cooled, Dawn would fix a clasp to their shrunken art and the child would wear it with pride.  Great fun!

Terri's Bugs

Terri set the standard of excellence in the Sculpey modeling clay.  Having already made and displayed hundreds of easy to make bug designs, the children would follow her example by creating their own crafty bug model.

Children and parents joined in the  fun  of creating  tiny  model bugs , molding the  soft colourful clay into bug shapes.  Each child's design being unique and made with pride.  The soft clay creature was  placed in  a  pot for the journey home  so that it could  be baked hard in the oven.

A  fantastic time for us all, when doing children's craft the magic is always there.

The energy and enthusiasm never stops.

The Craft Shop will soon be running the same Sculpey workshop with Terri, the date is yet to be confirmed.

If you have any suggestions for a workshop or are holding an event that you feel we would be interested in please let us know.
